New Couches

My new couches arrived safe and sound today... without any damage done to our house, like the last time we had furniture delivered.  I am quite excited to finally have them here and I am looking forward to finding decorations to fill in the rest of the rooms with now that I have the main pieces to work with.  The sectional is in our family room...
and these green couches are in our living room.  I love color... it just makes me happy... now I just need to add some to the walls.

18 Month Check Up

It is amazing how quickly Cole went from this...
...to this... I remember when Cole was born with Jaundice and he had to stay in that awful bili-bed all day, every day for the first week of his life and all I wanted was just wanted to hold him and it was so hard to not be able to. I find myself feeling the same way these days, only he isn't stuck in a bed, he is running all over the house and he just has so much to do that he doesn't have time to sit and let me hold him...He had his 18 month check up today and at the end we scheduled his 2 year check up... 2 years?  Is he really that close to being 2?  It's hard to believe... He isn't getting any smaller, that is certain.  He weighed in at 27 lbs and is 35 inches tall...
Last night, Cole came running towards me with a piece of paper and a marker... I am glad he brought it to me and didn't take matters into his own hands.  I sat him at his desk and this is what he created... (I helped him with the name part:)  I just thought I would add it to my blog, because I want to remember little things like this forever...

Sick Again...

While I was gone last night, Cole was refusing to eat and being pretty fussy so Sean decided to have the doctor visit.  It turns out he has some type of viral throat infection... there isn't really anything we can give him to make it better so we'll just have to wait it out and try to make him as comfortable as possible in the meantime... poor little guy...

Girl's Knight

Last night was so much fun... I hung out with one of my favorite and oldest friends... Autumn.  I met this girl when I was 7 and living in Auburn.  She still lives there with her cute, little, 2-year-old son, Brayden... I am so glad that I live close to her again.  We ate dinner at Red Robin and then went and saw this...

AMAZING... Definitely one I could watch over and over again...

Company Picnic

This was the view from the company picnic... It was amazing!  The drive out to the farm where it was located was gorgeous...   I am not sure why they refer to it as the company picnic, because it was much more like a carnival.  There was SO much to do, it was almost overwhelming.  Most of the kids activities are designed for kids older than Cole, but it was good to see what there will be for him to do next year.
The company picnic takes place on 3 different days and you sign up for the day that you want to attend.... it is a good thing because there were SO many people there.  This picture of all the cars doesn't do it justice... this is just one side but the cars stretched on like this for acres and acres in every direction.  I have never before seen as many cars at one time as I did there.
I wish I had taken more pictures at the actual party, but I was a little overwhelmed as I tend to get in crowds, but it was definitely something I am going to be looking forward to going to again next summer.  Cole did really well and held out for several hours until he crashed and fell asleep as we were strolling him to the car.  He never falls asleep in his stroller so this was a BIG relief to me, since he was pretty tired and we still had a long ways to go before we got home.
I love spending time with this guy...  He really is my favorite person and I am glad that he is mine~  It was so nice to get out and about and do something different from our usual Saturday routine.

I Love Fridays...

Tonight we went to Red Robin for dinner.  Cole has been transitioning from two naps a day to only one, so he has been a little cranky in the evenings and refusing to eat dinner pretty much every night. So today, after a long week of fussy meal-times, we decided to break it up a bit and see if he did better going out to eat.  It worked pretty well... as soon as Cole got his hands on this balloon he was loving life and ate his mac and cheese without any problems...
It is always fun to be out-and-about with Cole... I remember when he was first born I was so terrified that I would never get to have quality time with Sean again, but it is amazing how much better just about everything is with Cole there.
On the way home, we stopped at Trader Joe's to pick up one of our favorite foods... banana waffles... they are SO good!
And we discovered these... Mini Mint Ice Cream Mouthfuls... they are even more delicious than they sound.  I can definitely see myself eating a lot of these in the future:)  I love Trader Joe's!  It seems like there is always some new treat to try every time we're in there.
While Sean and I devoured the ice cream sandwiches, Cole was quite content just to suck his thumb... Tomorrow we are going to the Microsoft Company Picnic... Hopefully I will have pictures of it to post tomorrow!  I love weekends...

Looking Out My Window

Pretty much... I have decided that I love it here... Getting used to the rain took me a little while, but I think all the trees make it well worth it.  My whole life I have daydreamed about living in the English countryside... and although Bothell, Washington isn't exactly British... when I look out my window and see trees like this it just makes me happy~

Cleaning Out My Closet

I have had a love-hate relationship with all of the closets in my house for quite awhile now.  I love that they have given me a place to hide all of my no-other-place-to-put-it type of junk... but I hate how every time I open one of them I am reminded of and overwhelmed by all of the clutter I have waiting for me... Tonight I decided to do something about it. I started with my least favorite closet... the one in my loft and I turned it around pretty quickly which inspired me to start on the rest of them.  That is my goal for this week... we'll see how it goes~

Good Times

This weekend was so much fun for many reasons... my parents coming to visit being one of them... I didn't get any pictures of their visit here, but we had a really good time.  I am glad that I get to spend more time with them than I did when I lived in Utah.
Another highlight of my weekend was seeing one of my closest childhood friends... another event from which I sadly remain picture-less, but I am blogging about it nonetheless:)  She is in town visiting her sister who just had a baby and it was SO good to see her again. This picture was taken of us my senior year of high school when we had zero-hour yearbook together.  I have known this girl since we were toddlers and she is a part of who I am... there is just something about the people that you knew when you were young...

The above pictures are both from what was probably Cole's highlight of the weekend... playing in his new blow-up pool.  Sadly, I have never taken this little guy to a real swimming pool, but he was quite content with this one.  He played in it for about an hour and was sad when it was time to get out... I am looking forward to spending a lot of time outside with him this week since the pool was a success.
