Woodland Park Zoo

Sean and I decided to take Cole to the zoo this afternoon and I had no idea that we only live 20 minutes away!  I was expecting it to be on the outskirts of the city but it really was right in the middle of downtown Seattle.  Driving there was beautiful... you drive through this older neighborhood full of craftsman style houses and then all of the sudden the zoo is right there.  On our way home we took the scenic route and drove through this cute little touristy city called Lake City... we will have to go exploring there sometime because it looked like a lot of fun and had amazing waterfront views of Green Lake.  I am discovering more and more how much there is to do here... I need to take advantage of it!

Sick...

The last week and a half has been pretty rough... first Cole got sick... in just about every way possible... the first day he was throwing up, then the next day he started getting croupy and that lasted for several days and once that started to get better Sean discovered a staph infection on Cole's cute little bottom.  The doctor came over to our house and performed a mini-operation on our couch... that is a little bit of an exaggeration but he cut open Cole's wound to clean it out and Cole has been taking antibiotics since then and recovering well... but the entire experience was pretty traumatizing for Cole and for me and Sean as well... I am just glad Sean found the infection when he did so it didn't spread even further~
Then I got sick this past weekend and so that completely destroyed our memorial day plans... but Sean took good care of me and even brought me meals in bed... he is the best...

Today was the first day that we all seemed to be feeling better... so we went to Applebee's to celebrate.  I am not the biggest fan of the food there, but I love going anyway because it was where Sean and I went on our first date almost 8 years ago... it is crazy how much has changed during that time but how quickly it has flown by.  I loved being there with Cole... there is just something I love about being able to order him a kids meal... it just makes him seem so old to me and makes me want to cherish every minute with him because the time is flying by... he was having a lot of fun with the balloon that our waitress gave to him... I love hanging out with my boys~

Mother's Day

I had a great Mother's day.  Sean and Cole sent me around the house on a treasure hunt to collect my presents and all of the clues were poems... It made my day!  Sean left late last night for Florida... yuck!  I don't like it when he has to travel, but I don't think this will happen very often with Microsoft so I shouldn't complain.  He will be there, in Orlando, all week for work so I am going to be heading to my parent's house to spend some quality time with family~  I love these pictures of Cole... his personality seems to be emerging more and more each day and it is so much fun watching him grow.

Big Boy Hair

Cole got his first haircut this weekend.  I loved his curls, but his baby hair was getting a little bit out of control and hard to manage and so it was time to say goodbye... He looks so much older with his buzz cut and it is starting to hit me that he really isn't going to be a baby much longer.
